Trusting God in Uncertain Times

A black background with white text expressing themes of struggle, despair, and the plea for salvation. The words convey feelings of loneliness, enduring hardship, and the search for hope.

I wasn’t going to give it up easily. I was going to fight as hard as I could to keep it. I thought if we just held on a little longer, that things would be ok. However, it has been made clear to me that, no matter how hard I try to deny it, we simply cannot afford to keep our house.

I prayed so hard for the house that we now call home. It was my dream to give my kids a home. A home where they could grow up. A home where we could make it ours over time. A home to make precious memories at. A home that I cherished for the entire time we have owned it. Up until now, I thought that when we decided to move, we would be heading towards something bigger. Something better.

Our decision was forced upon us out of necessity. We bought our house at a terrible time. Interest rates were high. Housing costs were high. It felt like a miracle that we were able to qualify to buy a house in the first place. But life continued to happen, and we now find ourselves in a position where we can no longer afford to stay.

We received notice that our mortgage payment is increasing. We found out that our second vehicle is no longer a safe family vehicle. I also have mounting medical bills from having surgery back in April. And don’t forget the cost of living and the expense of raising two kids. It was made all too clear that this was the only way forward.

We don’t know where we are going. But I have faith that God will provide. I’ll do it; I’ll ask for another miracle. Whether it be a miracle or strength and provision for what lies next, I ask for God to intervene. It is His will, not mine. I can feel heartbroken, grateful, and humble all the same time. I trust that the Lord has something better and more beautiful in store for us.

For now, we will wait; we will trust that just over this next mountain our salvation awaits.

Who shall seperate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loves us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to seperate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8: 35-39
